In August 2012, four members of SSL (Joanna Łacheta, Joanna Filipczak, Sylwia Łozińska, Piotr Mostowski) participated in Summer School in Corpus Linguistics held at the Institute of German Sign Langauge at the Univeristy of Hamburg.

The main aim of the Summer School was to familiarize participants with a complex process of creating sign language corpora and to present tools for editing and annotating sign language linguistic data.

Program of the School contained lectures, workshops and invited talks. Participants could attend many interesting courses, like: elictation methodes (in creating tasks for corpus), methodology of selecting informants and data collection, segmentation, annnotation and HamNoSys (Hamburg Notation System for sign languages).

Invited guests included Joanna Mesch, Carlo Cecchetto, Antonio Balvet.
